Supported Upgrades
The PCC for SharePoint 7.x Integration supports two ways to upgrade from an earlier version of PCC for SharePoint 7:
- Solution Update - is the recommended approach for performing an upgrade.
- Solution Replacement - is supported, but not recommended.
At the time of upgrading the PCC for SharePoint 7.x Integration, you should also upgrade to the latest Prizm Content Connect 7.x.
Solution Update – PCC for SharePoint Integration
The Solution Update process allows you to update the PCC for SharePoint Integration in place, without first removing your existing installation. A PowerShell script ships with the product to assist you in the update. This script performs the actions to update the solution and the feature(s) in the solution.
The following instructions walk you through the update process.

The Diagnostic Tools solution must be removed before performing the solution update. |
- Retract and remove the solution Accusoft.SharePoint.DiagnosticsTools.wsp.
For help, see the section Removing Diagnostics Tools (the last section in the topic, Troubleshooting Diagnostic Tools).
- Download and extract PccForSharePoint.zip to <Folder A>
- Open the SharePoint 2010 Management Shell.
- Change directory to the directory from Step 2:
# cd <Folder A>
- Run the update script:
# Update-Accusoft.Pcc.SharePoint.PS1
If you try to perform a solution update by running Setup.exe (the SharePoint 2010 Solution Installer), the option to perform a solution update will be unavailable. Setup.exe only allows you to perform a solution replacement.
Solution Replacement – PCC for SharePoint Integration
The Solution Replacement process consists of first retracting and removing the PCC for SharePoint Integration, and then installing the new PCC for SharePoint Integration. This is NOT the recommended process for performing an upgrade of the PCC for SharePoint Integration, but this process is supported in case you start down this path before reading the recommendation.
The following high level instructions walk you through solution replacement.
